Amazon is set to introduce a new streaming device to its lineup with cutting-edge features that outshine current models. The Fire TV Stick HD, the latest offering from the tech giant, will be available for £39.99 starting later this month. Despite its lower price point, it boasts several enhancements, including a significantly slimmer and more stylish design compared to its predecessor.

The new Fire TV Stick HD is now 30% narrower, making it not only easier to fit behind TVs but also more portable for users on the go. A key advantage of this device is that it can draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.

According to Amazon, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our slimmest streaming device – both smaller in volume and width than previous models – and optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port, so it fits more neatly behind a TV without requiring a separate power adapter.”

Like other Fire TV Sticks, it provides instant access to popular streaming services such as Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. It also comes with a convenient remote featuring Alexa voice search and quick-launch buttons for apps.

While it doesn’t support 4K content, the Fire TV Stick HD offers full HD viewing quality, which should suffice for most households.

Amazon claims that the new Fire TV Stick HD delivers noticeable speed enhancements compared to previous models. It is over 30% faster on average than the previous generation HD stick, resulting in quicker startup times and app loading.

Additionally, it is equipped with the latest Fire operating system, offering a more streamlined user experience, improved recommendations, and a cleaner interface for easier content discovery.

The Fire TV Stick HD will be released in stores on April 29th at a price of £39.99.
