A man in Warrington, Aaron Quinn, was ordered to pay a £100 compensation fee for verbally attacking a mother-of-two, Sarah Allen, by insulting her appearance. The incident occurred after a confrontation with another neighbor. Quinn admitted in court to using offensive language causing distress to Ms. Allen, as well as damaging property. In addition to the compensation, he received a fine, surcharge, and a restraining order preventing him from contacting Ms. Allen.
Following the incident, Quinn relocated to a different area of town. The altercation took place on March 28 during a dispute with neighbors over undisclosed issues. Prosecutors highlighted ongoing conflicts between Quinn and his neighbors, describing instances where he engaged in aggressive behavior, including damaging property and verbally abusing Ms. Allen.
In his defense, Quinn’s solicitor mentioned the recent loss of his mother, which had a profound impact on him, compounded by chronic insomnia. Despite past disagreements with neighbors, Quinn now resides with his partner in a different location and appears to have a supportive environment.
During sentencing, the judge prioritized compensating Ms. Allen for the distress caused by Quinn’s behavior.
