Some Android users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are draining rapidly even when the devices are not in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update rollout. Numerous Android users have voiced their complaints in various forums, citing the need to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain battery power.

The battery drain bug appears to be affecting Google’s Pixel phone lineup, with the tech giant acknowledging the issue and actively working on a solution. Impacted devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A models.

According to reports from 9to5Google, the battery drain issue is linked to excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to operate continuously in the background even when not in active use. Users like Phil and Fz have expressed frustration over sudden battery depletion, slow charging speeds, and overnight drain issues on their Pixel phones.

However, not all Pixel users are experiencing these problems, as confirmed by individuals like Warren, who reported normal battery performance on their Pixel 9 Pro device. Google is expected to investigate the matter further and release an update promptly to address the issue. Updates on this ongoing situation will be provided as new information becomes available.
