Liz Truss has launched her own YouTube show as a bold move against what she refers to as the “deep state.” In a video shared on social media, the former Conservative Prime Minister, who had a brief 49-day tenure, reiterated her accusations that the “deep state” conspired to ruin her reputation.

She defended herself by stating that the economic turmoil in 2022 was not her responsibility, despite her controversial budget decisions leading to significant market instability. Despite losing her parliamentary seat in the previous election, Truss is determined to shed light on her detractors and share what she believes is the truth about current events in the Western world. She encouraged viewers to watch The Liz Truss Show every Friday to engage in what she calls “the counter revolution.”

However, Truss faced ridicule from both politicians and journalists online. Labour MP Callum Anderson sarcastically suggested that the show’s first guests might include characters from the Muppets and Fraggle Rock. Another Labour MP, Uma Kumaran, criticized her online presence as “unhinged,” pointing out that Truss’s ineffectiveness was so profound that even a lettuce lasted longer than her political career.

In a harsh reminder of her lack of public appeal, a recent YouGov poll revealed that only a small fraction of the population, 4% very interested and 9% fairly interested, care about Truss’s opinions on government policies. The majority, 63%, expressed no interest at all, while 19% had little interest. Additional polling data indicated that a mere 2% of the public believe it would be beneficial for Truss to return to the forefront of politics, with 60% viewing it as a negative prospect.

In her promotional video shared on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, Truss recounted being ousted from the Prime Minister’s office in 2022. She emphasized her efforts to promote a vision of a thriving economy post-Brexit, blaming the ensuing market crisis on external factors beyond her control.
