Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride put on a remarkable performance for her hometown fans on Sunday, setting a new WNBA single-game record by sinking 10 3-pointers in a 103-90 victory against the Dallas Wings at the Target Center. McBride’s stellar shooting display, where she connected on 10 of 14 attempts from beyond the arc, propelled her to a career-high 43 points, leaving the crowd in awe.

The record-breaking moment occurred with just 2:23 remaining in the game, extending the Lynx’s lead to 98-83 before McBride received a thunderous ovation as she exited the court with 1:21 left. Expressing her gratitude to the fans and the organization, McBride acknowledged the immense support she receives from the Minneapolis community, which motivates her to perform at her best and contribute to the team’s success.

Prior to McBride’s historic feat, the record for most 3-pointers in a WNBA game stood at nine, a milestone achieved on eight occasions, including twice this season by Toronto’s Marina Mabrey and Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard. McBride’s exceptional performance not only secured the single-game 3-point record for the Lynx but also helped the team secure a playoff berth as they improved to a 27-7 record, marking their 12th win in 13 games.

Minnesota’s offensive prowess has been evident in recent games, with the team surpassing the 100-point mark in four of their last six outings, including a strong showing against the defending champions, Las Vegas. Despite the team’s collective success, Sunday belonged to McBride, who reflected on her decision to return to play for the Lynx and expressed her gratitude for the unforgettable moments and support from the fans throughout her career.
