Nearly four years ago, Sokvin Vann found herself stuck in a routine. Encouraged by her brother, she channeled her passion for K-pop and BTS, a popular boy band, into creating BTS Army Toronto. Despite facing personal tragedy with her brother’s passing, Vann expanded the fan club into a vibrant community, organizing events, giveaways, and supporting local Korean businesses.

As BTS prepares for their highly anticipated return to Toronto after more than a decade, Vann reflects on the positive impact the fan club has had on her life and the connections it has fostered within the community. Working alongside her son and a dedicated team, Vann emphasizes the friendships and sense of belonging that the fan club has provided to its members.

BTS, known for their sold-out shows and devoted fan base, is set to perform at Rogers Stadium as part of their Arirang World Tour. The group’s meaningful lyrics and engagement with fans have contributed to their global success and strong connection with audiences.

The tour marks BTS’s first Canadian stop since their hiatus in 2022, with Toronto being the sole Canadian destination on their worldwide tour. The fan excitement is palpable, with fans eagerly anticipating the concerts and engaging with official merchandise pop-up stores in the city.

Despite previous cancellations due to the pandemic, Toronto fans like Vann and others are thrilled to finally witness BTS perform in their hometown. The city itself is embracing BTS’s visit with temporary co-naming of a street and a surge in fan activities and preparations leading up to the concerts.

As BTS continues to make waves in the music industry, Vann and the BTS Army Toronto are gearing up to provide a memorable experience for fans attending the concerts. The anticipation and enthusiasm surrounding the events showcase the strong bond between BTS and their dedicated fan community.
