Actor Dylan Walsh, known for his role in “Heated Rivalry,” stirred up excitement among fans by suggesting that the popular hockey romance series might be expanding with a potential dozen new episodes. The 62-year-old American actor shared this revelation during a Cameo video, which was later reposted by TikTok user Savannah Leigh.
In the video, Walsh expressed his fondness for his role in “Heated Rivalry” and hinted at the possibility of filming additional episodes. He portrays the father of hockey player Shane Hollander, played by Canadian actor Hudson Williams, on the show.
However, Walsh’s remarks caused a stir, leading him to issue an apology and temporarily suspend his Cameo account. In his statement to CBC News, he admitted to speaking informally and creating confusion by speculating about the production schedule.
While the show’s representatives are yet to comment on Walsh’s statements, the actor’s slip-up has fueled speculation among fans about potential new seasons of “Heated Rivalry.” The first season of the series consisted of six episodes, and creator Jacob Tierney previously hinted at a preference for shorter seasons.
Based on the Game Changers book series by Canadian author Rachel Reid, “Heated Rivalry” has garnered critical acclaim and multiple awards, including a Peabody Award and a Canadian Screen Award for best drama series. The show’s second season, currently in production in Toronto and Montreal, has added five new cast members, as announced by Crave Canada on Instagram.
