Noemie Brochart and Shay Ciezki both contributed 15 points to lead the Phoenix team to a decisive 101-69 victory over the Toronto Tempo during Saturday’s game. This win marked the second-largest margin of victory for Phoenix this season, following their 99-66 opening game triumph against the Las Vegas Aces.

Sami Whitcomb added 14 points to the scoreboard, while Marta Suarez and Maddy Westbeld, coming off the bench, scored 13 and 12 points respectively. Lexi Held also contributed with 11 points for the Mercury (14-26), ending their four-game losing streak.

Alyssa Thomas showcased her playmaking skills by distributing 12 assists, marking the 11th game this season in which she has provided 10 or more assists. Isabelle Harrison recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Kiki Rice scored 14 points, and Laura Juskaite added 10 points for the Tempo, who were looking to rebound from a 93-73 loss to Las Vegas the previous day.

Despite their efforts, the Tempo (11-29) were missing their leading scorer Marina Mabrey, averaging 20.8 points per game, due to an adductor injury that has sidelined her for the past six games.

Phoenix took control early in the game, establishing a 21-8 lead that they never relinquished. The Mercury maintained a strong lead throughout, finishing the first quarter with a 27-17 advantage and extending it to 58-35 by halftime. A dominant 30-point performance in the third quarter further solidified their lead, resulting in an 88-49 score at the end of the third quarter.
