Chris Hughes’ pals reveal reason for his tears after ‘game-playing’ accusations

Published:

Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes’ friend revealed why the Love Island star got emotional after fellow housemates accused him of ‘playing a game’. The TV personality was told by his co-stars that they feel isolated from him due to his close friendship with American singer and dancer, JoJo Siwa.

Before leaving the house, Daley Thompson said he was a “professional” reality star. TOWIE’s Ella Rae Wise has also been struggling to get along with him, accusing him of being a game player on multiple occasions. Before the face-to-face nominations, he was in the Diary Room for 63 minutes crying to Big Brother over his housemates’ feelings towards him.

Daley told Ella Rae Wise and Angellica Bell that he and JoJo were “playing the game”.

He told Big Brother: “I’m exhausted in this house to be honest. I think I’m too normal and lead a stress free life. If people have things to say just say it and air it.”

Chris then became tearful as he went on: “I hate toxic stuff in life. I hate toxic energy. It just brings you down. You can feel when energy shifts and it’s just not nice.

“I don’t want to be emotional and sad but sometimes you just can’t help it.”

In a recent chat, a friend of Chris said Daley “didn’t know what he was talking about”, adding Chris hasn’t ‘really’ taken part in a reality show with a competitive element since leaving the ITV2 programme.

“Having said that he is very competitive,” the insider said to The Sun. “But he is actually VERY sensitive. Yes, sometimes he does behave like a 16-year-old in a man’s body and yes, sometimes he goes too far, but absolutely there is zero malice in the boy.”

Even fans online shared their thoughts on the emotional scenes of him in the Diary Room, with one Twitter/X user saying: “I don’t care if you like or dislike Chris.

“He’s been a positive, fun and sunny person in the house and against the likes of Patsy it’s nice to see. He brings the mood up! To see him cry after being beaten down by bullies is really sad! #CBBUK.”

Another added: “Chris just seems like a really nice guy tbh. He just wants to be himself and have fun, makes me sad to see him upset #CBBUK.”

After returning to his housemates, he tried to deflect from the issue when Patsy Palmer asked why he was there so long. After claiming to have had a stomach ache, Patsy thought he had received a secret meal.

However, with pal JoJo Siwa noticing he was upset, she grabbed him for a hug. He continued to ponder on the moment, saying he “isn’t cut out” for the Big Brother house in a chat with JoJo in the garden.
