A beach club on a popular party island was the scene of a violent attack on a British tourist. Louis Johe Jarvie sustained a knife wound to his arm during the incident in Cherng Talay, Phuket, during the early hours. The 34-year-old victim is currently undergoing treatment at Thalang hospital and is in recovery.
According to the police statement, witnesses reported seeing a large foreign man stabbing the British victim. Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the area to identify the perpetrator, urging any additional witnesses to come forward. Phuket attracts millions of visitors annually, with a recent study revealing a high tourist-to-local ratio on the island.
Tragically, a 37-year-old British father drowned while swimming with his partner at a crowded beach on the island over the weekend. Jason Mark Lambert, from Ipswich, was swept away by a strong wave at Freedom Beach. Despite efforts by fellow beachgoers, Lambert could not be revived. Fortunately, two other swimmers caught in the same current were rescued successfully.
Chariya Thaweerat Howells, a witness, recounted how people initially assisted two struggling swimmers before realizing a third person was in distress. She described the rough sea conditions and the swift action taken to rescue the swimmers, emphasizing the tragic outcome for Lambert.
