Conor Benn has criticized his rival Chris Eubank Jr for displaying what he called a ‘victim mentality’ following the release of a troubling video showing Eubank Jr receiving medical treatment in a hospital. The footage depicted Eubank Jr, aged 36, lying still on a bed with medical equipment around him and medical personnel nearby.

The video elicited sympathy from many fans, with some suggesting that Eubank Jr should consider retiring after his defeat to Benn in a rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November. However, Benn encouraged fans to question the motives behind Eubank Jr’s video, implying that it was a ploy for sympathy.

In an interview with the Mail, Benn mentioned rumors of Eubank Jr dealing with health issues during his training camp and after the fight, but he dismissed them as not being serious. Benn emphasized the need to delve deeper into the reasons behind Eubank Jr’s actions, pointing out a recurring theme of seeking sympathy and adopting a victim mindset.

Benn then shared his own experiences of facing challenges in silence, highlighting that he never sought public sympathy despite enduring difficulties such as torn tendons and asthma during his fights. He asserted that such adversities are part of the sport and that seeking sympathy from the public is not his goal.

Despite the health issues, Eubank Jr affirmed his intention to return to boxing once he has fully recovered, expressing gratitude to his supporters and vowing to make a strong comeback in the future.
