Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero have ended their coaching partnership after seven years. Ferrero began coaching Alcaraz at the age of 15, guiding him to success. During their collaboration, Alcaraz achieved six Grand Slam titles, became world No. 1, and earned an Olympic silver medal. Ferrero, a former world No. 1 and Grand Slam champion, recently won the 2025 ATP Coach of the Year Award with Samuel Lopez.
Alcaraz announced the split on social media, expressing gratitude to Ferrero for helping him achieve his childhood dreams. He acknowledged the growth, both as an athlete and a person, that he experienced under Ferrero’s guidance. Alcaraz looks forward to new adventures and projects, thanking Ferrero for their shared journey.
In response, Ferrero also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, reminiscing about the valuable experiences and moments he shared with Alcaraz. He expressed pride and nostalgia as this chapter closes, appreciating the team’s support and hard work. Ferrero thanked Alcaraz for the trust and effort and wished him success in the future, both professionally and personally.
While Alcaraz continues to be coached by Samuel Lopez, who is based at Ferrero’s academy, the reason for Ferrero’s departure remains undisclosed.
