In an eventful weekend during Donald Trump’s second term, peculiar occurrences marked the days. It commenced with an unconventional peace prize awarded by a friend associated with FIFA and will conclude with Trump presenting medals to Kiss, Rocky, and the Phantom of the Opera. For those unfamiliar with these happenings, a fascinating read awaits, possibly prompting a desire for additional therapy sessions.

Amidst Trump’s Realm

Key Highlights of the Weekend

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to commend the decision by the Centers for Disease Control Vaccine Committee to discontinue the Hepatitis B vaccine recommendation for infants. Trump argued that most babies face no risk of Hepatitis B, a disease primarily transmitted sexually or through contaminated needles. While this holds truth for the majority, infants born to Hepatitis B-positive mothers face a significantly higher risk of transmission during childbirth, which can lead to severe consequences if left untreated. Additionally, Trump reiterated misleading information from his anti-vaxxer Health Secretary regarding the number of vaccine doses required by children, misrepresenting the actual figures.

Furthermore, Trump suggested an alternative approach to administering the MMR vaccine to children, proposing separate injections, which could potentially increase the number of required doses. The weekend continued with extravagant gestures towards Trump, including a fictional peace prize, medals for various personalities, and a musical performance by the Village People at an event organized by FIFA’s chief, Gianni Infantino.

In a surprising move, the National Parks’ free entry days have been altered, removing significant historical dates and adding Trump’s birthday to the list. The Trump administration’s modifications also impacted the annual awards hosted by the Kennedy Center, where Trump personally selected honorees for this year’s event, deviating from the traditional selection process.

Additionally, a judge has ordered the release of transcripts from the grand jury hearings related to the sex trafficking cases involving Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, following the enactment of a law that supersedes previous restrictions on disclosing grand jury proceedings.

ICE reported the arrest of individuals in Minneapolis, including those from Somalia, a group previously targeted by Trump in discriminatory remarks. The arrests were part of an operation involving individuals charged or convicted of various offenses.

The Kennedy Center’s upcoming awards ceremony reflects Trump’s influence, with a revised selection process and changes to the award design and presentation format. The alterations signal a departure from the traditional practices observed in previous years.
