The Princess of Wales looked stunning in a tiara and ballgown at a state banquet held at Windsor Castle. Princess Kate, along with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William, attended the white tie dinner, which marked the highlight of the German state visit.

German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender were honored with royal hospitality at the historic St George’s Hall as the first day of their three-day trip came to an end. Before the banquet, William and Kate shared a glimpse of their attire on social media.

The Prince and Princess of Wales expressed their anticipation for the event on Instagram, stating, “Looking forward to a special banquet tonight in Windsor.” Kate and William posed in front of a Christmas tree for a festive photo, radiating royal elegance.

This marked Kate’s third state banquet attendance this year. She first joined the royal family in July for the French state banquet honoring French president Emmanual Macron, where she wore the Lover’s Knot tiara and a red gown by Sarah Burton for Givenchy. For the second state banquet honoring US president Donald Trump in September, Kate dazzled in a Philippa Lepley hand-embroidered gold lace evening coat over a silk crepe gown.

The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed the German president and his wife to the UK for a historic state visit. William and Kate greeted the King’s guests at Heathrow Airport, with Kate wearing a Burberry dress and a blue coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The visit signifies the first German president state visit in 27 years and the third inward state visit for King Charles this year.

President Steinmeier’s visit is significant as it marks the fifth state visit from Germany since 1958. The royal couple, along with King Charles and Queen Camilla, welcomed President Steinmeier with a ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle.
