Ronald Montenegro, aged 55, was engaged in weight training when the fatal accident transpired. Despite initially freeing himself from the weight, distressing footage captured him standing up before collapsing in pain. He was swiftly taken to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he could not be saved. Following his demise, tributes poured in for the museum director.
Ronald served as the president of Palacio dos Bonecos Gigantes museum in the town, renowned for its 15-foot tall paper mache and cloth puppets featured in the annual carnival. The museum expressed deep sorrow over his passing, acknowledging his pivotal role in preserving the tradition of giant puppets that enchant both locals and visitors.
