Former LIV Golf standout Brooks Koepka expressed mixed feelings of anticipation and anxiety as he gears up to make his return to the PGA Tour this month.

The five-time Major winner disclosed that he will face a substantial financial penalty, potentially amounting to $90 million, instead of serving a one-year suspension.

Koepka, previously ranked world No.1, is the inaugural participant in the new Returning Member Program, exclusively accessible to players who have clinched a Major or The Players Championship since 2022. This opportunity also extends to Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cam Smith until February 2, heralding the return of top-tier talent to the PGA Tour.

Acknowledging potential discontent among players who remained loyal to the PGA Tour, Koepka conceded that his abrupt departure from LIV Golf on December 23 may spark resentment.

Currently positioned as world No.244, the American athlete is set to compete in his first regular PGA Tour event since March 2022 at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines on January 29.

Expressing a blend of nerves and excitement, Koepka shared his anticipation for the challenges and interactions that lie ahead upon his return to competitive golf.

Moreover, Koepka’s decision to donate $5 million to charity, forgo FedExCup bonus earnings in 2026, and meet specific qualifications for major events underscores his commitment to reestablishing his presence in the golfing world.

Despite the financial setbacks and challenges ahead, Koepka expressed gratitude for the opportunity afforded to him by the PGA Tour and the chance to rebuild relationships with fellow players and fans.

Looking ahead to future tournaments, Koepka remains optimistic about overcoming any hurdles and making a positive impact both on and off the golf course.
