White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt provided an update on President Donald Trump’s health, addressing the recent appearance of plasters and bandages on his hands. Observers had noticed dark bruises on Trump’s right hand over the past few months.

Traditionally, Trump had tried to conceal the bruising with a light-colored makeup concealer, often resulting in a mismatch with his skin tone when captured on camera. However, in recent weeks, he has resorted to wearing adhesive bandages over the bruises, sparking concerns about his well-being. During a press conference, Leavitt was questioned about the bruises and offered an intriguing explanation for the bandages.

According to Leavitt, the President frequently shakes hands and holds numerous meetings daily in the bustling environment of the Oval Office, which could lead to such bruising. Additionally, Trump follows a daily aspirin regimen, a factor highlighted in his previous medical assessments as a potential contributor to the visible bruising.

When pressed for details on the timing of Trump’s reported success in three cognitive tests, Leavitt mentioned that she did not have the specific dates at that moment but promised to provide the information later.

Recently, Trump took to Truth Social to respond to reports in The New York Times suggesting a decline in his mental acuity at the age of 79. Emphasizing that he excelled in another cognitive examination conducted in front of numerous professionals, Trump dismissed claims of any deterioration in his mental or physical capabilities, labeling such reports as false and accusing the media of spreading misinformation.

Expressing his frustration with media coverage, Trump criticized The New York Times for what he perceived as biased reporting and suggested the cessation of the publication as beneficial for the country. Despite his history of confrontations with the press, Trump’s use of terms like “treason” and “sedition” in this context raised alarms, especially considering his earlier remarks hinting at severe consequences for such offenses.

The New York Times, in response to Trump’s accusations, stood by its reporting, refuting the allegations of inaccuracies and issuing a statement reaffirming the accuracy of their coverage on the former President.
