Donald Trump has made a surprise announcement of an upcoming address from the White House scheduled for tomorrow evening. The US President shared on his Truth Social platform that he will speak to the nation at 9pm EST (2am GMT), expressing optimism about the future. In his message, Trump emphasized that he anticipates a positive outlook for the country, stating, “The best is yet to come.”

While no specific details about the content of his speech were provided by the 79-year-old, the White House has also refrained from offering any additional information regarding Trump’s impending announcement. This development follows Trump’s remarks during a recent Christmas reception at the White House, where he vowed to take action in response to the deaths of two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter who were killed in an ISIS ambush in Syria.

Although Trump did not specify whether he would deliver the address from the Oval Office, it is anticipated that if he does, he will be speaking from behind his Resolute desk. Notably, Trump has given only two sit-down addresses from the Oval Office since the beginning of his second term. This announcement comes after a period of criticism directed at Trump for his handling of the deaths of Rob Reiner, a well-known director, and his wife Michele Singer.

Trump had previously made controversial statements on Truth Social regarding Reiner, calling him a victim of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” These remarks were met with disapproval even from members of his own party, such as Republican U.S. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, who condemned the comments as inappropriate and disrespectful. The tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer, who were found with stab wounds and their throats slit, have led to the detention and murder charges against the couple’s son, Nick Reiner.
