Anthony Joshua’s driver in Nigeria is expected to face charges of ‘reckless driving’ following a tragic accident that claimed the lives of two of the boxer’s close associates. The driver, a 47-year-old member of Joshua’s Nigerian logistics team, is set to be charged within the next 48 hours, according to reports.

After being discharged from a hospital in Lagos on New Year’s Eve, the driver was taken to Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state, for questioning. He provided an official statement detailing the events leading up to the crash, which resulted in the deaths of Sina Ghami and Kevin Latif Ayodele, Joshua’s close friends.

Joshua, who was also hospitalized but has since been released, paid his respects to the deceased at a funeral home alongside his mother. The driver, after receiving treatment for minor injuries, was questioned by police and is expected to face charges for reckless driving.

The incident occurred when Joshua was traveling in a black Lexus Jeep that collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The driver of the truck fled the scene and is now wanted by the authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding and a burst tire on the SUV contributed to the crash.

In a separate development, Sky has announced a significant price reduction for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering substantial savings ahead of the upcoming season. Members can enjoy over 1,400 live matches, including at least 215 Premier League games, in the upcoming season.
