Apple has announced the upcoming release of iOS 27 at WWDC in California, promising significant performance improvements for iPhone users. Alongside enhancements to Siri, Apple Intelligence, photo editing tools, and customization options, the new update is set to make apps launch up to 30% faster, providing a smoother user experience.
According to Apple, iOS 27 will also deliver faster photo loading speeds by up to 70% across devices and accelerate AirDrop transfers by up to 80%. Notably, these enhancements are not exclusive to the latest iPhone 17 Pro Max but will also benefit older models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, thanks to a feature known as the CPU scheduler.
The CPU scheduler optimizes device performance by prioritizing the app in use over background processes, ensuring a more efficient user experience. Apple anticipates that these improvements will extend the lifespan of older devices and reduce the need for unnecessary upgrades, making tasks feel quicker and more enjoyable.
While the exact release date for iOS 27 is yet to be announced, it is expected to be available in September. Apple emphasized that the update will elevate system capabilities across platforms, enhancing everyday tasks for users.
