David Malukas set the pace during the practice session at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy in Markham by clocking a time of 1 minute and 14.194 seconds in the second training round of the day. Qualifying rounds are scheduled for the evening.
Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second spot with a time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third position with a time of 1:14.592 around the downtown road course in Markham.
The initial day of track activities was canceled due to incomplete course readiness and pending safety inspections.
This year marks the debut of the race in Markham, having shifted from Toronto’s Exhibition Place, its longstanding location since its inception in 1986.
Earlier in the day, Palou had led the first practice session with the fastest time of 1:14.9915.
