The PDC has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her behavior during her World Championship match against Dave Chisnall. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her former partner Cameron Menzies had been involved in earlier in the week.

Menzies had a violent outburst after losing to Charlie Manby, resulting in injuries. Despite their past relationship, Sherrock’s actions were seen as light-hearted considering the circumstances.

The PDC’s CEO, Matt Porter, emphasized the organization’s support for Menzies following his reaction to the defeat. Porter highlighted the importance of player well-being and confirmed available support from the PDC and PDPA.

Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, leading to a 3-0 loss, while Menzies, as the 26th seed, was defeated 3-2 by Manby after initially leading in the match.

Menzies revealed personal struggles after the loss, citing the recent passing of his uncle as a contributing factor to his emotional response. He acknowledged his actions on stage were inappropriate and expressed remorse for his behavior.

Chisnall acknowledged Sherrock’s skill despite the defeat, noting that the match was closely contested. He praised Sherrock’s scoring ability and credited the supportive crowd for the atmosphere.

Chisnall is set to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round, while other matches are scheduled for Friday, with notable players like Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall competing.

Young talent Beau Greaves will also begin her World Championship journey against Daryl Gurney, with the winner advancing to face Callan Rydz in the subsequent round.

As the World Darts Championship unfolds, fans can expect exciting matches and intense competition. Last year’s champion, Luke Littler, will defend his title against strong contenders like Luke Humphries in a sold-out event at Ally Pally.
