Kim Kardashian‘s parenting style has been slammed after she allowed her 11-year-old daughter North West to attend Coachella without her. The reality TV icon, 44, has come under fire from concerned fans after North took to TikTok to share a video of herself and her friends dancing.
North, who is the eldest child of Kim and ex-husband Kanye West, 47, showed off a full face of makeup in the now viral TikTok video. Vibrant North was seen dancing with her two friends in the clip as she donned an oversized grey hoodie and paired it with a mini skirt.
She topped off the look with a designer Balenciaga bag and modelled a full face of glamorous makeup – something which Kim’s fans have taken huge issue with. North captioned her TikTok video as ‘Coachella day 2.’
After North shared her excitement in the video, Kim’s fans took to Reddit to debate the fact that she allowed her 11-year-old to attend a huge music festival without her. One fan questioned: “Does anyone find it weird that 11 year old North West is at Coachella?”
Another fan replied: “Sorry to sound like a regressive aunty but she’s too young to be dressing and putting makeup on like that and forget about Coachella, I wonder what goes in Kim’s head when she indirectly lets her daughter act and look like an adult.”
“People seem to forget that North is literally a CHILD. It’s already hard enough for her growing up in the spotlight, she should be protected more by her mother. She is being encouraged to grow up way too fast and it’s horrible to see. Look at all that makeup on her beautiful face – it’s horrible,” another agreed.
Someone else wrote: “As crazy as Kanye is, he’s right about the fact that his children shouldn’t be on social media. North should not have that TikTok account and she should be monitored. Can’t believe Kim let her go to Coachella. WTF.”
While another Reddit user wrote: “Kim can’t wait till she can make money off North, that’s what’s going through her head. I agree about staying a child as long as you possibly can.” The Mirror has approached Kim’s representatives for comment on this story.
It comes after North previously shared an insight into Kim’s parenting techniques as she confessed that her famous mum hasn’t cooked a meal for her in the last two years.
Back in October, North slammed her mum for her lack of cooking skills. The pair spoke to each other for an interview when North said the last time Kim was in the kitchen had been Halloween – two years previous.
Speaking about Kim’s lack of cooking, North said: “You haven’t cooked for us in a long time. Last time you cooked was two Halloweens ago.” When North said that her mum made her “mac and cheese”, Kim quickly added: “And fried chicken and cornbread. I’m a one-trick pony. Is that one meal good?”
North then said that her mom was “really good at making me cucumbers and salt”.
