A knifeman dressed as the Joker allegedly stabbed three people in a horrifying attack at a nightclub. One man died and two others have been left with serious injuries after the shocking incident in the capital of Bolivia, La Paz, in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to reports.
Chilling CCTV footage caught the suspect arriving at the Forum nightclub dressed as the Batman supervillain – including the infamous purple jacket, green hair, and creepy white, red and black face makeup. Once inside the club, the suspect reportedly pulled out a knife and targeted three male revellers at random.
The knife attack reportedly started inside the club and continued outside. The dressed-up Joker was with a female companion who reportedly assisted him during the attack.
Local police confirmed a 21-year-old was rushed to hospital but he later died, despite doctors’ desperate attempts to keep him alive. He was named locally as Youssef E.M.G.
Cops said: “A person allegedly attacked three young men with a sharp weapon at the Forum nightclub. One of them, a 21-year-old, was taken to Clínicas Hospital where he sadly died from an abdominal wound.”
One of the critically injured victims, aged 20, is believed to be a relative of the dead 21-year-old.
The suspect was tracked down hours after the attack, following a speedy joint operation between police and the public prosecutor’s office. Officials revealed he was still wearing part of the Joker costume at the time, which was allegedly covered in bloodstains.
His female companion was also arrested by police, as they revealed prosecutors are seeking a pre-trial detention period of six months at a local prison for The Joker suspect.
Police added: “We arrested two people who were probably involved in this unfortunate incident. They are a couple, one female and one male, who are likely be the perpetrators of the triple stabbing.”
Shockingly this has not been the first time an alleged knifeman has dressed as The Joker before going on a horror rampage. A man costumed as the supervillain reportedly stabbed 10 people onboard a train in Tokyo, Japan, full of passengers on their way to celebrate Halloween in the city.
It was claimed the attacker, dressed in a purple suit and bright green shirt, also sprayed passengers with acid before setting the carriage seats on fire. As travellers desperately ran from the scene, he eerily sat down and lit a cigarette while waiting for police to arrive.
One witness told the Yomiuri newspaper: “I thought it was a Halloween stunt.” He added that he saw passengers running in a panic towards his train car, and said: “Then, I saw a man walking this way, slowly waving a long knife. There was blood on the knife.”
