A major energy supplier is giving customers the chance to get free electricity to customers throughout April through its popular energy saver challenge.
EDF’s “Sunday Saver” challenge allows eligible customers to earn free electricity on Sundays by shifting their electricity use away from weekday peak hours of 4pm to 7pm. The more electricity you shift, the more free electricity you can earn the following Sunday, with between four and 16 hours on offer.
EDF says a 5% reduction in peak consumption would earn four hours of free electricity, a 20% reduction is eight hours, a 35% reduction is 12 hours, and those cutting their usage by 50% can earn the maximum amount of 16 hours of free electricity on Sundays.
