Victoria Beckham’s tumultuous family life as she turns 51 – Brooklyn feud to huge snub

Published:

Spice Girls legend Victoria Beckham is celebrating her 51st birthday today after shooting to fame at the tender age of 19. Victoria, who is also commonly referred to as Posh thanks to her Spice Girls nickname, has had an incredible year in relation to her career and marriage with husband David Beckham.

To mark his wife’s milestone birthday, David, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday, took to Instagram to gush over the singer turned fashionista. Alongside a throwback snap of the happy couple sharing a passionate kiss in a pool, David wrote: “Happy Birthday to the most amazing Wife, Mummy and Best Friend that we could all wish for. Have the most perfect day because you deserve to and we love you so much @victoriabeckham.”

While David’s birthday post is full of love and sentiment, in recent weeks, it appears that trouble has been brewing in her wider family life amid rumours that her sons Brooklyn, 26, and Romeo, 22, have had a bitter falling out. Here, we take a look at Victoria’s life now as she turns 51 – with seemingly more obstacles than ever.

David and Victoria sons Brooklyn and Romeo are reportedly not on speaking terms, creating potential friction between the usually close clan. The brothers are the eldest kids of former England football captain David and Spice Girl Victoria, who also have son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper Seven, 13.

Fans of the family were quick to spot Brooklyn’s notable absence at dad David’s early 50th birthday celebration in Miami earlier this month. Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, were nowhere to be seen as the ex-footballer and a slurry of famous faces dressed up for the special occasion.

But, it’s not the first time they’ve steered clear of a family soiree. Following the event, speculation is rife regarding the once close ties shared by the famous family.

The latest comes as Romeo, 22, was joined by girlfriend Kim Turnbull at David’s party. Following the shindig, Romeo took to Instagram to share snaps from the night. He captioned the upload: “Family is everything.”

He tagged most of his family, but left out Brooklyn and Nicola. The upload left fans scratching their head. Sources have claimed to TMZ Romeo’s relationship with Kim is playing its part in the siblings’ falling out. The publication states that Brooklyn reportedly had a romantic connection with Kim years ago.

However, the outlet claims a source as saying “that’s all water under the bridge.” With Brooklyn now happily married to Nicola, sources said “the issue at hand is the couple questions whether Kim has the right intentions in dating Romeo”.

Brooklyn, 26, who is the eldest son of Victoria and David, discreetly celebrated his third anniversary with his wife Nicola Peltz earlier this month – but his famous mum and dad failed to publicly mark the milestone leading to further speculation of a family feud.

Brooklyn, who’s dabbled in various career paths recently, allegedly received the cold shoulder from some family members, including his folks. The star commemorated his third anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram post, yet it was clear that none of his nearest and dearest seemed to engage with his tribute online.

Sharing on Instagram, Brooklyn gushed: “Happy 3 year anniversary baby x I love you with all my heart x I’m so lucky I get to spend everyday with you and wake up to your beautiful face everyday you are my world x I love you so much Nicola xxxxxxx.”

While this lack of reaction doesn’t necessarily signal trouble between Brooklyn and his famous parents, it certainly had followers wondering about the current trouble brewing in the Beckham household as their eldest son seeks to plant his feet firmly in a career.

Taking a recent spin in motor-racing at a star-studded Formula E event, Brooklyn indulged in a passion he shares with his dad David—a hobby that has David fretting for his safety.

The football icon is said to have cautioned his son to “be careful” while behind the wheel of the high-speed carbon fibre vehicles that can outpace even modern Formula 1 cars.

The latest family fallout comes almost three years after rumoured rifts between Nicola and her mother-in-law, Victoria. Fans had noticed the pair appeared more distant on social media after Nicola and Brooklyn’s lavish wedding day in April 2022. It was claimed the row was sparked for a number of reasons, including “conflicting cultures” and apparent “tension”.

At the time, there were reports Brooklyn hadn’t spoken to his family much “in months”. Months later, Nicola tried to play down any fallout, explaining she had hoped to wear a Victoria Beckham designed gown on her big day but was unable to.

In a chat with Variety, she said: “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”

Nicola later said, rather cryptically, “no family is perfect” in an interview with The Sunday Times. However, she was once again tried to deny any rumours of a rift, adding: “It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, ‘feud, feud, feud’! I don’t pay attention to all of it… if I did, I would go crazy.”

Victoria might just pip her husband David to the post in securing a prestigious type of accolade, an expert recently claimed. Victoria, could be in the running for a damehood before her husband David gets awarded a knighthood.

Despite persistent whispers about David being in line for a knighthood, he has so far been left waiting in the wings, with the honour seemingly out of reach. Yet Victoria could be zooming ahead, as brand and cultural guru Nick Ede suggests her star is not only rising but continuously shining globally.

Speaking to Hello! the expert suggested: “Victoria is in line to become a dame in the not-too-distant future, with her brand becoming synonymous with UK fashion and beauty and her flying the flag like previous fashion dames Vivienne Westwood, Anya Hindmarch and Zandra Rhodes.

“I think she may achieve the highest honour for women before David as she has shown herself to be such an inspiring businesswoman, extremely hard-working and a perfect ambassador for the UK.” He even predicted that Victoria’s business empire is set to soar past the £100million mark soon – dwarfing the successes of mega-brands helmed by stars like Kylie Jenner and Rihanna.
