Girl, 14, attacked by adults in Primark as police hunt for suspects that tore hair out

Published:

Police have released pictures of two adults they want to track down after a 14-year-old girl had her torn out in a Primark attack.

Officers have launched a probe after the shocking incident at the clothes shop in Maidstone, Kent at around 5.20pm on Friday 21 March. Kent Police said the 14-year-old victim was reportedly followed by a man and woman into a branch of the budget retailer before being pulled to the floor. The girl was then kicked in the head during a “sustained attack”, the force said. Another woman with the suspects is said to have also verbally abused the victim, who suffered hair loss and bruising to her head and knees.

Today, the force shared images from the store of two people – a man and a woman – who officers would like to identify. The woman has brown hair and is wearing a black jacket, while the man is seen in a white T-shirt.

CCTV imgaes shared by the force show the woman appearing to enter a store, with another grab showing the man and woman in the store as the woman appears agitated. A statement from Kent Police said: “CCTV images from a Maidstone shop have been issued after a child was allegedly assaulted by two adults.

“The victim, aged 14, was reportedly followed by a man and woman into Primark in Week Street, before being pulled to the floor by her hair during a sustained attack which also saw her kicked in the head.

“The incident happened at around 5.20pm on Friday 21 March 2025. Another woman with the suspects is said to have also verbally abused the victim, who suffered injuries including hair loss and bruising to her head and knees.”

In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was handed a 12-month referral order last month after pleading guilty to a stabbing at a Primark in Nottingham city centre. He told magistrates he had made “a stupid mistake” in carrying a knife with him on the day of the incident in January.

CCTV footage from the scene showed the teenager being chased by two people, who followed him into Primark. A short fight then ensued, during which he stabbed a 17-year-old with an 18 inch bladed weapon.
