Heartbreak for Michael Schumacher’s son as he ‘splits from Miss Universe fiancée’

Published:

Mick Schumacher is suffering from a broken heart after splitting from his Miss Universe finalist fiancee, according to reports. The Formula 1 driver, 26, had been dating Laila Hasanovich since 2022.

She was welcomed into his family’s “inner circle” and was the only girlfriend to have met his F1 icon dad Michael. However, things have come crashing down for the pair as they were both spotted on exclusive dating app Raya.

The former Haas driver has wiped the most recent photos with Laila from his Instagram. It comes just six months after the pair got engaged. The announcement of their engagement was low-key, with Laila showing her ring in an Instagram post captioned: “Then it’s game over.”

However, German outlet Bild has claimed to have spotted both the sports star and model on the celebrity dating app.

The publication previously claimed that the Schumacher family were “smitten” with Laila. The model was pictured with her fiancée’s mother, Corinna, at the FIA World Endurance Championship in Qatar in March last year, while Mick was competing.

She was born in Bosnia but moved to Denmark as a child and spent a year in Kentucky as an exchange student – before moving to Copenhagen, aged 19. Laila became a model and has amassed more than 300k followers on Instagram.

She spends her time between Copenhagen and Switzerland and reached the finals of Miss Universe Denmark in 2019, finishing in the top 10.

Before dating Mick, Laila was in a relationship with footballer Jonas Wind, who plays for Wolfsburg and the Denmark national team. The social media star was spotted at numerous motorsport events during her relationship with Mick but didn’t share his driving passion.

“I got my driver license when I was 17, and ever since then, I have never been comfortable with driving a car,” she told her followers. “I always try to practice as much as I can, I just don’t enjoy it that much.”

The Schumachers have remained fiercely private since seven-time F1 world champion Michael suffered life-changing injuries in December 2013.

A skiing accident led to Schumacher being temporarily placed into an induced coma before returning home the following September, but updates on his condition since have been few and far between.

It was reported that the F1 icon had made his first public appearance for 11 years last year as his daughter Gina-Marie married Iain Bethke at the Schumachers’ mansion in Majorca.

Only Corinna, Mick, Gina-Maire and a few other close friends and family have previously been allowed to see Schumacher since his accident.

When it came to introducing Laila to her father-in-law, it was claimed to be decided by a family vote. It was reported that she was the first girlfriend that Mick has ever introduced to his dad.

The Mirror has contacted Mick’s representative for comment.
