Jake Paul has announced a special tribute honoring the late friends of Anthony Joshua during the upcoming Amanda Serrano vs. Danila Tellez event. In a heartfelt gesture, Most Valuable Promotions, the company owned by the YouTuber-turned-boxer, has placed the names of Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami at the center of the ring canvas to remember Joshua’s friends who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Nigeria.

Following a controversial fight with Paul, Joshua traveled to Nigeria where the fatal accident occurred. The incident took place when the SUV Joshua and his friends were in collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Makun in Ogun state.

Ahead of the Puerto Rico event, Jake Paul and MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian made sure to highlight the names of Ayodele and Ghami as a tribute. Paul, who sustained injuries during the fight with Joshua, expressed his condolences on social media by posting a set of praying hands.

Joshua, who has been discharged from the hospital and returned to the United Kingdom, is preparing to attend the funeral of his friends. There are uncertainties about Joshua’s attendance at the ceremony due to concerns about attracting unwanted attention.

Reports indicate that Joshua narrowly escaped the tragic accident by changing seats moments before the journey that claimed the lives of his friends. The driver of the vehicle, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and has pleaded not guilty.

Kayode’s lawyer, Olalekan Abiodun, stated that the incident was an accident and that the brakes of the vehicle were reportedly not functioning properly. The case has been adjourned for trial in January.
