The Las Vegas Aces secured a 93-73 victory against the Toronto Tempo with an outstanding performance from A’ja Wilson, who contributed 27 points and eight rebounds. Jackie Young impressed with 23 points and eight assists, while Chelsea Gray added 11 points. This game marked the Aces’ first without NaLyssa Smith, sidelined for the season due to a left leg injury sustained in a previous match against Toronto.

Toronto’s efforts were led by Isabelle Harrison with 15 points, followed by Laura Juskaite (14 points), Kia Nurse (12 points), and Kiki Rice and Kiana Williams with 10 points each.

Following this win, the Aces (27-13) maintained their one-game lead for third place in the WNBA playoff standings, ahead of Indiana (26-14) who also secured a victory against Connecticut.

Jackie Young’s crucial three-pointer early in the game set the pace, as Las Vegas held the lead throughout. The first quarter ended with the Aces ahead 27-17, shooting 50% from the field, including impressive 3-point shooting. Toronto struggled with turnovers, committing nine in the first quarter alone.

Las Vegas continued their strong performance into the second quarter, finishing the first half with a commanding 56-39 lead. Despite a slight dip in their 3-point shooting efficiency, the Aces maintained a solid 50% overall shooting percentage.

Toronto’s 12 personal fouls in the first half proved costly, as the Aces capitalized on their free-throw opportunities, shooting an exceptional 13 for 14 from the line.

Looking ahead, the Tempo will face the Phoenix Mercury next, while the Aces are set to play against the Seattle Storm on Thursday, Sept. 17.
