A mother is facing severe allegations in connection with a disturbing incident of child sexual abuse after her 11-year-old daughter gave birth. Cherie Walker, 33, was arrested and charged with child neglect when her daughter delivered a baby at their home. Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson described it as one of the most serious cases she had prosecuted.
The girl had not received any medical care during her pregnancy, raising concerns. Cherie’s partner, Dustin Walker, 34, was also arrested for child sexual abuse. Despite claiming ignorance about the pregnancy, DNA tests confirmed Dustin as the father of the newborn.
Following the DNA results, charges were updated. Dustin is now accused of sexually abusing the girl between January and August, leading to her full-term pregnancy. Cherie faces charges related to enabling child sexual abuse.
The couple also faces multiple felony child neglect charges for failing to provide medical care and supervision to their children. The living conditions were described as deplorable, with the children found living in unsanitary conditions. The children were removed from the home on August 19.
Both Dustin and Cherie have bail set at $100,000 each and could face severe penalties for the charges. Legal representation for the couple is currently unclear.
