CBC has announced a new five-year broadcast agreement with The Curling Group, expanding its coverage of Canadian curling. This deal will bring over 300 hours of combined television coverage to CBC and Sportsnet for the 2026-27 season. The highlight of the agreement is the inclusion of Rock League, a professional league with six mixed-gender franchises, returning to CBC in January 2027.

Rock League’s second season will feature games on select weekends in January and April, with matches airing from Thursday through Sunday. Every game will be accessible on CBC television and CBC Gem, while selected matches will be broadcast on Radio-Canada’s ICI TOU.TV and Sportsnet on Thursdays and Fridays.

In addition to Rock League, CBC will have an increased role in the Grand Slam of Curling events. Sportsnet will continue to be the primary broadcaster for the five Grand Slam events, showcasing three draws per day from Tuesday to Friday. CBC and CBC Gem will join Sportsnet+ for Saturday’s playoff coverage, while Sportsnet will air the championship finals on Sundays. CBC will also broadcast select finals throughout the season.

This agreement builds on CBC’s longstanding history of curling coverage, with Chris Wilson, CBC’s executive director of sports and Olympics, expressing excitement about sharing another season of Rock League with audiences nationwide. The Curling Group’s CEO and co-founder, Nic Sulsky, sees this as a pivotal moment for the sport, providing a larger platform for both the Grand Slam and Rock League to reach a broader Canadian audience.

Over the next five years, Canadian viewers can expect more comprehensive coverage of Grand Slam playoff weekends and the upcoming second season of Rock League on CBC.
