A Jet2 plane traveling from the United Kingdom had to make an emergency landing as a result of an incident where a passenger reportedly assaulted a cabin crew member mid-flight. The situation led to the flight being given priority landing, with the crew requesting medical assistance and police presence upon arrival. Air traffic controllers communicated that a cabin crew member was allegedly attacked during the flight.

A social media post mentioned the incident on a flight from Edinburgh headed to South Tenerife, detailing the crew’s call for medical help and police presence due to a reported altercation involving a crew member. Air traffic controllers expressed their support for the crew and passengers who had to deal with the distressing event.

Jet2’s spokesperson confirmed that authorities were summoned to remove a disruptive passenger from flight LS739 earlier in the day. Concurrently, Edinburgh Airport experienced disruptions in departures due to an IT problem, causing all flights to be temporarily halted. However, operations resumed after a while, although some flights had to be canceled. The airport’s official announcement on social media acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the IT issue and expressed gratitude for passengers’ patience and cooperation.
