Samsung has officially stopped providing software support for three of its older Galaxy phone models, namely the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. These phones will no longer receive crucial software updates, as observed by the TechRadar team. The removal of these models from Samsung’s supported devices list indicates that they will not receive any new system updates or security patches. If you own one of these phones released in 2021, it is advisable to consider upgrading for enhanced security.

Initially, when the S21 series was launched, Samsung committed to providing four years of Android updates and five years of security updates. However, in 2026, these commitments have come to an end. On the other hand, newer models like the Galaxy S25 now offer seven years of both Android and security updates, prolonging the device’s usability.

While the Galaxy S21 FE continues to receive quarterly security updates and is expected to do so for at least another year, users may want to hold off on upgrading as Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy S26 series later this month. Speculations suggest that the new series, possibly launching on February 25, will boast improvements such as a faster processor, enhanced camera capabilities, sturdier design, and better battery life.
