Samsung has unveiled a trio of new Galaxy S26 smartphones, with the standout feature being the Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra. This innovative feature ensures that onlookers cannot view the screen unless directly in front of it, enhancing privacy for users in public settings.
The Privacy Display function can be activated in the settings, causing content to vanish if not viewed head-on. This prevents unauthorized individuals from reading messages or peeking at your screen while commuting or in public places. Users can customize the Privacy Display to block specific apps or notifications for added security.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces the industry’s first built-in Privacy Display, revolutionizing privacy protection on smartphones by controlling pixel light dispersion. This technology maintains clear, bright content for the user while restricting visibility for others.
In addition to the Privacy Display, the S26 Ultra boasts a sleeker design, extended battery life, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for enhanced performance. The device also features rapid charging capabilities, reaching 75% battery in just 30 minutes.
The smartphone is equipped with an updated quad rear camera that excels in night photography and video recording. Enhanced Super Steady capabilities minimize camera shake, particularly useful for shooting stable home videos.
Continuing the tradition of previous Ultra models, the S26 Ultra includes an integrated S Pen for handwriting and drawing on the 6.9-inch AMOLED screen. Joining the Ultra variant are the standard S26 with a 6.3-inch display and the larger 6.7-inch Plus version, powered by Samsung’s Exynos chip and featuring triple-lens rear cameras.
All new Samsung smartphones benefit from upgraded smart features through a Galaxy AI enhancement. The Galaxy S26 introduces Now Nudge, offering relevant suggestions to users to maintain focus and productivity.
For instance, the device can automatically suggest relevant photos from the Gallery when prompted for images from a recent trip. It also integrates with Google Gemini for intuitive web searches and assists in managing calendar entries for meetings.
While these updates enhance user experience, they come with an increased cost this year. The UK pricing for the Galaxy S26 range is as follows:
– S26: 256GB £879, 512GB £1,049
– S26 Plus: 256GB £1,099, 512GB £1,269
– S26 Ultra: 256GB £1,279, 512GB £1,449, 1TB (with 16GB RAM) £1,699
The new Samsung Galaxy S26 series will be available in stores next month.
