Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as the company introduces the new HBO Max service, expanding its streaming offerings. Subscribers with a Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more at no additional cost, saving over £50 annually. This service addition follows the inclusion of Disney+ in select plans earlier this month.
According to Sky, customers with Sky Ultimate TV, Sky Glass, Sky Stream, or specific Sky Q packages will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. HBO Max, known for its extensive collection of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, has finally made its debut in the UK after being available in the USA for some time.
To access HBO Max, eligible Sky customers simply need to launch the app from their homepage and follow the on-screen instructions for activation. For those not currently on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to it is an option starting at £22 per month, offering over 130 Sky channels along with Netflix, Disney+, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, Sophia Ahmad, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, offering unparalleled entertainment options. NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max integrated into the NOW app at no extra charge.
For non-Sky subscribers interested in HBO Max, direct sign-up is available on the service’s website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99. This move signifies a significant step for Sky, NOW, and their commitment to delivering a comprehensive entertainment experience to consumers.
