Sky has revealed adjustments to its TV channel lineup, set to take effect soon. Among the changes, Sky Showcase and Sky Max will be discontinued on February 24, making way for the return of the popular Sky One channel. Sky One will launch the following day, offering subscribers a range of comedy and entertainment programs, including new shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby, as well as familiar favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., The Paper, and Ted. In addition, Sky One will become the home of Saturday Night Live UK later this year.
Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV & NOW, expressed excitement about the channel’s revival, emphasizing a focus on providing quality content for viewers. Sky One will debut on channel 106 on February 24. Alongside the channel launch, Sky has introduced a new plan called Ultimate TV, priced at £24 per month. This plan offers access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, along with over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime. Subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will also gain access to a dedicated Disney movie channel through Sky Cinema, allowing for easy viewing of Hollywood hits without needing to open the Disney+ app.
The £24 plan includes Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads starting from March, HBO Max Basic with Ads launching on March 26th, Hayu available from July, and a selection of top shows from March. Additionally, subscribers will enjoy over 130 channels from Sky.
