The interview coincided with Zelensky’s meeting with Pope Leo in Italy, where they discussed the importance of dialogue, peace initiatives, and the repatriation of Ukrainian individuals held in Russia. Zelensky appreciated the pontiff’s support and invited him to visit Ukraine.
Zelensky is engaging in diplomatic discussions in Rome, including a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to bolster European backing amid uncertainties about US involvement.
