Two individuals have been apprehended by authorities following a collision on the A19 that occurred last evening. A female driver, operating a Volkswagen T-roc in the vicinity of the Silverlink Roundabout and Holystone, is currently in critical condition at a medical facility. The incident involved her vehicle coming into contact with a Skoda Fabia, with the Skoda driver failing to halt at the scene according to Northumbria Police.

The detained suspects, both males in their 20s and 30s, are under investigation for potential serious injury caused by reckless driving and are presently under police detention.
