Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured by US forces along with his wife in Venezuela. Nearly 24 hours after the operation, a video surfaced showing Maduro making a peculiar comment. The couple has since been taken to the US and faces charges, including Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy.

Authorities transferred Maduro from one helicopter to another on his way to a detention center in Brooklyn. This facility has housed notable inmates like Sam Bankman-Fried in the past. Maduro arrived at a US military base on Saturday.

In a separate development, a video allegedly taken at the DEA headquarters in Manhattan shows Maduro being escorted while saying “Good night. Happy New Year.” The footage has garnered attention online, with users commenting on Maduro’s attire and message.

Maduro is set to appear in a federal court next week to face charges related to drug trafficking and illegal arms trade. A federal indictment unsealed by US Attorney General Pam Bondi accuses Maduro, his wife, and four others of narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of weapons, and conspiracy to possess weapons.
