A tragic incident occurred at a construction site where a worker in his 40s lost his life after falling from a collapsed crane in Ringsend, Dublin. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly working at an apartment complex when the accident happened. Authorities, including Gardai and emergency services, quickly responded to the scene at the old glass bottle site in Ringsend.

It is suspected that an object fell from the crane, leading to the worker’s fall from several floors onto a balcony. Investigations are currently being conducted by Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority following the fatal accident. Online videos of the aftermath have surfaced, prompting officials to urge the public not to share them.

A spokesperson from the Health and Safety Authority confirmed the fatality and stated that an investigation has been initiated. The Gardai released a statement acknowledging the incident and mentioned that ongoing investigations are underway, providing no further details at this time.

In a statement to the Irish Mirror, it was disclosed that the worker, a male in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the Dublin City mortuary for examination. The Health and Safety Authority has been notified and will conduct its own inquiry, with plans to prepare a file for the coroner.

SISK, the development contractors involved, acknowledged the incident on their Glass Bottle site in Dublin and assured that they are investigating the circumstances and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
