A British pub is offering the most expensive draught beer in the country, priced at a remarkable £75 per pint. The Ya-Bard located in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, is presenting the potent American Blessed Stout with a high alcohol content of 21% ABV. Due to its strength, the drink is served in third of a pint glasses at a cost of £25 per 189ml glass, which is equivalent to £75 for a full pint. Pub owner Dave Moore, aged 53, mentions that his keg is one of only two outside the US, and only 100 fortunate customers will have the opportunity to taste this unique beer.

According to Dave, the Blessed Stout could potentially be the most expensive stout in Britain due to its exceptional quality and the extensive effort put into its production. The brewing process takes about a year, followed by 33 months of aging in Heaven Hill bourbon and Russell Reserve barrels with coconut and vanilla flavors. Describing it as one of the finest stouts they have ever experienced, Dave explains that the beer has a robust bourbon aroma with hints of dark chocolate, owing to the long aging process and high alcohol content, which is five times stronger than typical stouts.

The stout is known for its smooth, warming taste, thick consistency, and a subtle spice undertone. Dave highlights that the drink is only offered in third pints as it may not suit everyone’s palate due to its strength. He anticipates that it might sell out quickly, considering its niche appeal. Customers purchasing the Blessed Stout will also receive a branded glass as a keepsake. Dave emphasizes that the price, though potentially surprising, reflects the uniqueness and quality of the product, offering a rare opportunity to savor one of the world’s most exclusive beers. He compares it to enjoying a premium glass of Rioja, stating that the Blessed Stout represents a higher level of quality and flavor complexity that he has ever encountered in a beer.
