A prominent billionaire has pledged to reward the individual who bravely disarmed one of the assailants at Bondi Beach. The event unfolded around 6:40 pm local time on Sunday, December 14, prompting a swift response from law enforcement to a reported shooting. Authorities discovered two individuals firing a weapon into a crowd, leading to an exchange of gunfire with police. Tragically, two officers sustained gunshot wounds during the confrontation.

One of the shooters, a 50-year-old man, was fatally shot by police at the scene, while the other, identified as Naveed Akram, sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized under police supervision. The duo allegedly targeted a Jewish Hanukkah gathering, resulting in the deaths of at least 16 individuals and injuring 40 more. Ahmed al Ahmed, recognized for his courageous intervention in a widely circulated video, tackled one of the attackers and seized the firearm.

In response to the viral footage showcasing Ahmed al Ahmed’s heroism, Bill Ackman, a Jewish finance mogul with a net worth exceeding $9.5 billion, expressed his desire to reward the heroic shop owner. Ackman took to social media to advocate for setting up a verified account to support Ahmed and his family. Although Mr. Ahmad remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds to his arm and hand, the community has rallied behind him.

The incident prompted the establishment of a significant crime scene, leading to the closure of Bondi Beach and surrounding areas. Detectives from the Joint Counter Terrorism Team have initiated an investigation, seizing three firearms from the scene for forensic analysis. The investigation remains ongoing, with updates forthcoming.
