Weather maps indicate areas across the country that may experience freezing temperatures and snow tonight.

The onset of winter brought cold weather, strong winds, and snow to various regions, with predictions suggesting these conditions may persist. WX Charts forecasts cold rain in several UK areas, with possible snowfall in some locations.

According to weather charts, snow showers are expected north of Glasgow and throughout central Scotland by 6 pm today. The Highlands, North Wales, and northern England are likely to experience heavy showers by the same time, impacting cities like Manchester and Liverpool.

Snow is anticipated to continue in parts of central Scotland overnight but may clear by morning. Sunday is expected to bring more showers to Scotland, North Wales, and northern England.

While WX Charts provides insights, the Met Office finds snowfall predictions challenging at present. Instead, the agency anticipates showers and strong winds from the west later today.

The Met Office also forecasts heavy rain moving east tonight, followed by clear spells and showers. Yellow rain warnings have been issued for Monday and Tuesday in southern Wales and southwest England, including areas like Hampshire, Herefordshire, Cardiff, Cornwall, Devon, and Bristol.

The public is cautioned about potential flooding and travel disruptions due to the weather conditions. Rainfall totals are projected to range from 20-40 mm in many places, with higher amounts in some areas. Ground saturation may lead to flooding, particularly in hilly regions, with accompanying strong southerly winds exacerbating the situation.
