An 87-year-old woman passed away in a tragic collision that left three others hospitalized with severe injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 6:55 pm on Friday on the A706 near Carriber Mill, close to Linlithgow, Scotland. It involved a red Honda Civic and a silver Volkswagen T-Roc. Emergency services responded, and the elderly woman, a passenger in the Volkswagen, was declared deceased at the scene.
The 21-year-old man driving the Honda, the 64-year-old male Volkswagen driver, and a 63-year-old female passenger in the Volkswagen were all transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The road was shut down for eight hours for investigative purposes before reopening around 2 am on Saturday, as stated by the Daily Record.
Sergeant Barry Sommerville urged anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage to come forward. Of particular interest is locating the driver of a Range Rover seen in the vicinity during the incident. Sgt Sommerville expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family and friends and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
Furthermore, in a separate incident on Thursday, a woman had to be extricated from a vehicle and taken to the hospital following a serious crash in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, at the junction of Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue around 8:30 pm. The collision involved two cars, resulting in the woman being rescued from one of the vehicles and receiving medical attention. Four other individuals sustained injuries and were treated at the scene.
