A deadly Russian missile strike claimed the lives of 10 individuals in a village located in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, describing it as a vicious assault on a bustling area in Pechenihy that houses a post office and stores, surrounded by residential buildings.

Zelenskyy shared images of the aftermath, showing a demolished building, vehicles engulfed in flames, and emergency responders aiding injured individuals. The Ukrainian President vowed to retaliate against the Russian strike. The governor of the region, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 17 people sustained injuries in the attack.

The assault resulted in severe damage to 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and at least seven cars in the village, according to Syniehubov. Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office indicated that Russia deployed two small Banderol cruise missiles in the attack.

Simultaneously, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone offensive targeting Moscow and its surroundings, deploying 620 drones in one of Kyiv’s most significant air assaults on the region. Russian forces intercepted 180 drones over the Moscow area, with reports of some drones crashing and causing minor injuries. The drones struck various locations, including a warehouse belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries near Moscow.

Additionally, several Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, faced intense attacks from Ukraine. The Crimean peninsula’s primary power supplier, Krymenergo, reported that southern districts experienced Ukrainian drone attacks, resulting in power outages in several settlements.

In response to reports of British-made drones being utilized in attacks against Russia, the Russian embassy in London issued a warning, stating that Britain’s involvement in the conflict would have consequences. The British Defence Ministry reaffirmed its support for Ukraine and its commitment to supplying necessary equipment for defense purposes.

Britain had previously pledged to provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of a substantial funding package.
