The incident occurred near Lagos, resulting in the fatalities of the two individuals on December 29. Joshua sustained injuries but survived the collision.
The accused, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, had his court hearing at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state near Lagos, with the case adjourned to March 13. He faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and reckless driving, as well as driving without due care and a valid license. Prosecutors requested more time to gather evidence. Kayode, who was granted bail, is yet to enter a plea and could potentially face a life sentence.
Anthony Joshua narrowly escaped death in the crash and was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve. He has since returned to the UK for ongoing rehabilitation.
