Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, expanding its service from the US. This subscription option allows British customers to protect multiple Apple devices under a single plan. Priced at £16.99 per month, AppleCare One covers up to three eligible devices like iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will repair the devices or offer up to three replacements per year based on the claim type.
AppleCare One enhances the existing AppleCare+ service by offering unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key advantage of AppleCare One is the ability to safeguard multiple products with a single subscription, potentially leading to cost savings. Apple estimates that covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch under AppleCare One could save users up to £11.48 per month compared to separate AppleCare+ plans for each device.
A notable feature of AppleCare One is that it allows users to add eligible devices up to four years old to the plan, as long as they are in good condition. This flexibility is a significant improvement over the standard 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ after buying a new device. Apple emphasizes that the plan seamlessly adjusts when upgrading devices; if a covered device is traded in for a new one from Apple, the old product is automatically removed and the new one is added to the subscription without any hassle.
