All flights departing from Edinburgh Airport were halted this morning due to a significant IT problem. The airport made an announcement on social media stating that flights were not operating because of an IT issue with their air traffic control provider.

By 10:40 am, departures and arrivals had resumed, but several flights had to be canceled. Even though the issues were resolved, some flights are still canceled as a result of the earlier disruption. The Edinburgh Airport live information page listed the flights that were canceled.

Flights taking off from Edinburgh Airport have also recommenced. According to the live information page, flights to various destinations have already departed, such as Bergamo, Wroclaw, Antalya, and Kirkwall. Nevertheless, a few flights were still canceled.

The airport expects flights to start arriving again soon, with some scheduled to land within the next hour. However, some flights have been entirely canceled or diverted due to the morning’s problems.

Passengers are urged to verify their flight details through their respective airlines. Edinburgh Airport has expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption.

Clarity, a business travel company, has warned that flight disruptions may persist even after the IT issue has been resolved as airlines work through the remaining backlogs. They advise travelers using Edinburgh Airport to confirm their flight status before departure and allow extra time for airport processes.

According to FlightRadar, arrivals at Edinburgh Airport will be suspended for at least a few more hours. Eurocontrol has stated that arrivals are not available between 9 am and 2 pm due to ATC Equipment issues.

Edinburgh Airport has not provided a specific timeframe for when flights will fully resume. They have mentioned that their teams are actively addressing the problem and will provide updates as they become available.
