Anthony Joshua has decided to leave the United Kingdom and relocate to Dubai amidst the ongoing US-Iran conflict in the United Arab Emirates. The 36-year-old, former heavyweight world champion, who hails from Watford with Nigerian roots, achieved Olympic gold for Great Britain in 2012. Despite his strong ties to his home country, Joshua is shifting his residency to the UAE, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Amidst the tensions between the USA, Israel, and Iran, Joshua made the significant choice to change his residential status to Dubai despite the recent attacks on the city by Iranian drones and missiles. The past weeks have witnessed a wave of Britons fleeing the Middle East nation back to the UK due to the escalating conflict.

Dubai’s appeal, including its favorable climate and amenities, attracts many, especially the affluent, due to the absence of income tax. Joshua’s financial dealings, including his company Sparta Promotions, reveal substantial profits and tax payments in the UK.

In a surprising move, Joshua’s decision coincides with Rio Ferdinand and Kate Ferdinand sharing their experiences of living in Dubai during the US-Iran war. The couple described unsettling moments hearing aircraft and explosions, yet expressed feeling secure amidst the chaos.

Kate reassured followers about their safety following missile strikes in Dubai, emphasizing the government’s efforts to maintain security. Despite the nerve-wracking situations, the Ferdinands found solace in family moments during these challenging times.

Joining a growing list of celebrities relocating to Dubai, Joshua follows in the footsteps of stars like Amir Khan and Lindsey Lohan who have made the city their home.
